The best part about designing with dynamic elements is that they never get old; new, fresh data can be supplied quickly to users by updating your servers via APIs rather than rebuilding your entire site every few months like many businesses do today.

Voice search has been a growing trend for the past 2 years. More people are using voice assistants to look for stuff on the internet rather than typing on Google or other engines. Therefore the rise of voice activated website interface is inevitable.

We predict websites will have their own unique audio sounds so that visitors can ask questions without having to type out what they want. For example, Hey Google, What’s my IP address and an audio clip will play back your IP address immediately as a response through your speaker device.

It’s much easier and natural way for all users to find information from different websites instead of getting deep into each web site just looking for a small piece of information.

The same concept goes with any kind of automation tasks such as email subscriptions. When you subscribe to a newsletter, there should be a sound clip associated with it so that you know right away which newsletter belong to which company/website.

These gestures will simplify customers’ search experience by eliminating ambiguity and confusion about which product, service or task it belongs to.   • Colour contrast: Contrast between background and text colours can ensure that text is easy enough to read for those with visual impairments.
  • Text resize: Making sure your website allows users to adjust font size means it can be made legible for people with low or high literacy. Such features should also be available across your site, not just one page as a nice-to-have option.
  • Headings and summaries: A common problem experienced by those with dyslexia is difficulty reading body text as it becomes disorganised quickly without headings as navigation aids. This can make navigating through content difficult as users will often give up on longer texts without clear structure.
  • Content changes: In many cases websites utilise colour schemes which change based on mood / season / other factors, which again affect those who are colour blind.

Instead of cramming as much information as possible onto a small screen, designers should focus on creating content that is easily readable and navigable on a phone’s or tablet’s touchscreens—or even voice commands.

If you are building your online presence in 2022 then you need to start designing for mobile. This means everything has to be optimised for tiny screens so it can be accessed quickly via phones and tablets anywhere in any environment at any time.

It’s beyond clear that mobile design is more important than desktop.

New web design trend 5 – Clear Message on Focus

If it isn’t crystal clear what you do and why, people will never figure out how to use your product or service. Don’t make them work hard to get access! Show them everything right away.

Less is more! Focus means less clutter, less unimportant text/images/graphics, better scanability of key messages & even better usability of your services. Keep in mind that when people are surfing on their smartphones, there is much less screen space available than when they are sitting at a desktop computer.

Put yourself in your customers’ shoes. Wherever they surf, provide only relevant information in a simple way.

Your users will thank you for using infographics or charts to convey complex statistics or research insights. Charts are more engaging when they are easier to read. Use simple designs with colour coding, logos or icons that help support your message more effectively.

Many of today’s leading websites and apps use visual content to tell a story about their organisation or industry while delivering meaningful information in a manner that is easily digestible by consumers. To maximise user experience, develop visual content with consideration toward what device people will be consuming it on (e.g., mobile vs desktop).

Strive for simplicity in design and focus on conveying only key takeaways. The world is quickly moving towards an informational diet, meaning there is much less interest in lengthy copy compared to high-quality visuals & data.

New web design trend 7 – Dark Mode

Google’s dark search extension shows us how most people prefer better readability at night. This actually makes a lot of sense. The eyes are most sensitive to blue light in lower brightness levels, so a darker environment helps protect your eyes from blue light rays better than bright white backgrounds, especially at night time when they have been exposed to sunlight throughout most of their day.

The best part? Almost every colour looks good as a background with black text, so you won’t have any issues matching your theme colors as well as your brand colors. Google released an update earlier that allows anyone to easily apply a dark mode to their entire site—including all menus and links within it.

It has become increasingly common in recent years to see websites add support for these themes or create them from scratch. With 20% of users on Chrome browsing with it enabled, if you haven’t yet added support for it, now is probably a good time!

Here’s what Google suggests: If possible, avoid using pure black (#000000). Pure black can be difficult to read against many website backgrounds and makes some elements disappear into thin air (like <form> fields!). Try using #282828 instead – that color is much easier on our eyes and still conveys depth without being too heavy on screen real estate.

Using the frosted glass effect, visualised content acts as bait, like ice cream at an ice cream parlour display case. With it, people get curious about what else is inside, thus driving them to click or tap on it to see more. You can make full use of it if you have one big image with links leading up to more content about it.

To make things clear even without clicking/tapping, make sure each link leads up to a similarly-looking page layout but changes only one thing – it could be color scheme, background image or icons used as labels – everything is fine as long as those points don’t fight for attention from users who now scan rather than read each line carefully due to growing tiredness from all those popups covering every inch of the screen nowadays anyway.
